Over 1 billion people, including 500 million children, are affected by Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), a group of diseases that disproportionally prevail in tropical and subtropical countries. DNDi targets five NTDs: sleeping sickness, Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, onchocerciasis and mycetoma. These are characterized by significant morbidity and/or mortality and have been prioritized due to the current limited availability and accessibility of effective diagnostic and treatment.
